The Albertinen-Hospital is Universität Hamburg’s academic teaching hospital and, with 650 beds, Hamburg’s largest non-profit hospital. Every year, around 66,000 in- and outpatients are treated here. The hospital specializes in cardiovascular medicine including cardiology, heart surgery, vascular and endovascular surgery and on-site rehabilitation. Departments for the percutaneous treatment of valvular heart disease and for the treatment of cardiac insufficiency complete the range of services on offer. The hospital also boasts high levels of expertise in the treatment of patients with abdominal tumours, interdisciplinary care being provided among other things in a bowel centre by internal medicine specialists, visceral surgeons, many other disciplines and an in-house oncology practice.
